Pimp Your Cache! Kickstarter campaign for new album by The Travel Bugs

Following on the heels of the highly successful campaign for the GoCache Card Game, this week we have our second consecutive blog post on a Geocaching related Kickstarter campaign; Pimp Your Cache! – New Geocaching Album by The Travel bugs, which has went live the day before this blog post, Wednesday, October 15th, 2014, and has been chosen as a staff pick by Kickstarter.com. The Travel Bugs released their first album of Geocaching related songs, “Found it”, in 2010, and are hoping to finance their second album, obviously titled “Pimp Your Cache!”, with this Kickstarter campaign. We were able to get Steve Weeks, the man behind the band, to answer some questions for us about himself, the “group”, and the campaign.

The GoCache card game (Kickstarter campaign)

Above is the Kickstarter video for the GoCache geocaching card game, by Tortoise and Hare Creations. The Kickstarter campaign for this geocaching themed card game was just launched today, Thursday, October 9th, 2014, at 4:00 Eastern Time; just a couple hours before this blog post. You can see they are already well on their way to their $1,500 funding goal to make this game a reality. Before the campaign kicked off, Tortoise and Hair Creations (hereafter known and THC), were nice enough to answer some questions about the game and the campaign for this blog via email.

10/14/14 UPDATE: Geocachers have been showing the GoCache Kickstarter campaign some serious love! Their initial goal of raising $1,500 was reached in an amazing 6 hours. Note the “stretch goals” they have set, about about 1/3 down their Kickstater project page. Over $2,000 has now been raised, and the first stretch goal (a custom icon for the trackable on Geocaching.com card) has been attained. There are still 25 days for you to get in on this very popular Kickstarter project.

Back to regular Blogging

Business-2828We never made an official announcement, but since mid-July, all the posts to this blog, save one, have been about or related to our August 2014 Diversified Cacher Contest! Not including the guest content of HikerJamz and The Geocaching Doc, of course. Fear not, we are getting back to regular blogging this week, with an interview with the creators of a Kickstarter campaign for a Geocaching related product, with the post probably coinciding with the day of the campaign’s launch. After that, we will be bringing you an interview with an official from a National Wildlife Service Refuge who has worked with OpenCaching North America to allow virtual caching on that refuge.

So check back soon! Or follow us on our social media outlets, where we announce all new blog posts. You can also follow this blog via email by entering your email address in the field on the sidebar, and hitting “subscribe”. We admit we may not adhere to a “once a week” schedule for non guest post content as aggressively as we did before the hiatus, but we are very anxious to get back into regular blogging.
